Happy Halloween!

Ahoy,

I just wanted to take a minute
to say..

HAPPY
HALLOWEEN!!!
I got the little witch and coffin at Michael's in September and used them as something cute for Halloween gifts. They mostly fit in the coffin, but I couldn't close it all the way. Still cute though!

My plans are homework and I want to do something crafty...maybe some stitching for Christmas presents (I'm woefully behind...). And then it's movie time (Hocus Pocus, Sleepy Hollow, and the new episode of The Middle)! YES!

I hope all you guys have fun and be safe if you're out and about!

Bloody Brilliant....If I do say so....

Ahoy,
I first want to say (all modesty intended.....ok mostly intended) I LOVE these earrings!

I can't remember if I got these charms or if my mom did. It took me a while to figure out what to do with them because I wanted to use red beads (obviously) but I couldn't think of a good way to do this. (I just checked the date, has it really been over a year?! *hanging head in shame*)

And then I had an idea and with a little work, this is what I got.
I used the supplies in the photo above and some E6000(I know it starts with "E") glue. I first tried them without the glue, but the "blood" moved around too much and it ruined the effect, so my mom suggested securing them.
I used a teeny tiny dot and waited for it to dry to make sure it would hold. I've worn them multiple times and I put my earrings in my pocket for my commute (cause I'm always in too much of a hurry to put them in at home...yes it's only like a minute, but I really am in that much of a hurry) so they can withstand a lot!
I think I'm going to try the E6000 glue on my pom-pom earrings.

All I see are rainbows...

Happy Friday!
I'm super excited to share my latest finish.

I got this design from Daily Cross Stitch. It's an easy design to stitch, but after awhile I was pretty tired of 822 (the unicorn). I did make some effort to protect it from the cat fur and I think I did ok.

I think I'll take it to work so it can make me smile.

Please excuse the crappy photo. Don't you like the hoop impressions?
I'm still debating what frame to get...maybe a plain one and paint it rainbow...or maybe....red? I don't know.

It's Christmas...in October

So when I was looking for some stuff for pictures, I found these in a bag on my desk. I'd like to say this is rare, but I'm constantly setting things down or putting them in a "safe" place (aka a place that makes sense and that I won't forget) only to lose them in a few days...
It can be irritating, but it's also nice because it's like Christmas! :)

I vaguely remember buying these....there must have been a sale.

I am a sucker for hardware/beads like the far left ones.

The crackled ones are a gift from my mom. The black drops are gorgeous....and I have no idea what to do with them. And for the skulls, I had an awesome idea! I thought it'd be cool to get (maybe even make) some heart-shaped jump rings and have the skulls dangle in them. I probably didn't describe that very well, but I have a clear idea in my head...we'll see.

I've got an interesting design for the purple and green ones. I'll be posting that design (with different colors) pretty soon.

The cone shape is another gift from my mom. I love them, but I don't know what to do with them. The rounded square ones are gorgeous and look like water. I've got a simple design to showcase these puppies that I'll share later (also a different color).

Pom-Pom Time

I know, I've been remiss in my posting. I would blame school, but I've also struggled with lack of motivation. I've been thinking about ways to get back into blogging and crafting, so I think I'll start by bringing back the "Simple Things" series.

I'm also going to think about doing regular crafts...maybe a project a month? Every two weeks? I don't have any details on this, but something will be coming soon!

And now for pom-poms. I saw this on pinterest a while back. It led me to this post. This seems like an easy earring to make and it's something different. I got the pom-pom pack at Michael's and I just ordered the post backs from 123 Stitch.com. They should be here pretty soon, as well some new designs!

So I'm going to be using the pom-poms in the top row.
Psych! No, I'm using these little ones. I'll let you guys know how they go. If it all turns out, just imagine all the pom-poms....pom-poms...
