Alias Hook

Another great book to share!

Alias Hook, by Lisa Jensen
Here's my review from

"This is definitely not Disney's peter pan! I really liked the twists in the story and it made me view Pan in an entirely different light....and the light isn't flattering. The author's style is descriptive and I can tell she did her research and all of this put me right next to Hook in the story. I also loved the mermaids in this version. The descriptions of them were so vivid and unlike any I've read so far. Awesome! :D

The only issue I had is that by the end of the book, it started to feel long. I guess I was just anxious to see how it all turned out, (and I've never been good with patience) so it felt like it wasn't moving fast enough for me. However, I feel like the pace of the novel helped to emphasize how Hook felt. Oh, and I'd say this is more for adults than children (sex and violence and what not...after all it is about pirates).

Overall a very good book and I highly recommend it!"

Black Rose in Paris

Ok, I'll admit the title is a little weird, but oddly enough I like it and since it's my blog I'm keeping it! Haha! ;)

Anywaaaaays, I wanted to show a pair of earrings that I purchased and then re-something-ed.

I bought these because I liked the pieces more than the whole earring and like my mom pointed out I could make two earrings.

Paris. I love these! Oh, you know what I just thought of? I could get some blush pink and black swarovski crystals to add a little pop...hmm, I've got a new project!

The black rose. I think I'll just leave as they are.

Belated, but Beloved

I don't know how I forgot this before, but I never showed any pictures of the new Ikea catalog! How did I miss this?!

Anyways, here's a loverly shot of the cover. I've already perused it many times, lovingly caressing the pages and wishing I could blink my way into the pages....oh well.

Lily wanted to demonstrate how versatile the catalog is. Not only wonderful inspiration for rooms and planning for Ikea trips, but it also triples as a pillow!

The Rose Garden

A book to share. I read this over the summer and though it started out a little slow for me (I was just really excited about a time-travel romance) it is wonderful!

The Rose Garden, by Susanna Kearsley

Here's my review from

"Wow! I don't know how to review this one. I highly recommend this one!

The author's descriptions are so detailed and wonderful they place you right in the story. The story was great and all of the characters felt so real to me. When I started reading, I thought I knew what I wanted to happen, but with each shift Kearsley had me torn! I won't give away the ending, but I will say that I loved it and I'm glad she put the words "the end" or I would have been looking for more!

I now have to go an read all of her other books! ;)

Happy Halloween!

I just wanted to take a minute
to say..

I got the little witch and coffin at Michael's in September and used them as something cute for Halloween gifts. They mostly fit in the coffin, but I couldn't close it all the way. Still cute though!
My plans are homework and I want to do something crafty...maybe some stitching for Christmas presents (I'm woefully behind...). And then it's movie time (Hocus Pocus, Sleepy Hollow, and the new episode of The Middle)! YES!
I hope all you guys have fun and be safe if you're out and about!
