Little Blue Flowers

Hello all!
Yay, more earrings to share! These puppies were an experiment using something other than a fish hook. I don't know if you can tell the difference in this picture, but the hook is really a stud. I bought some of these to try them out. Let me know what you think.

I love these little flower beads. They're so sweet and pretty. My only criticism for these now is that they are too long. I think I should have only done one section of the seed beads. Well, live and learn right. :)
Thanks for visiting and hope to see you soon!

In Progress...in Pieces

Hello all!
Finally some new earrings; ok, technically they aren't earrings yet, but they're fast on their way!
I can't remember where I bought these beads. It took quite a while to find a design that showed off the bead without looking empty. I am SO happy with these spacers. They are perfect for adding a little something extra without overwhelming the design.
Well, what do you think?

I don't know if you can tell the difference between the dark red and the purple, but there are actually four different colors. I'll make sure to show you the finished product!
Thanks for visiting, hope to see you again soon!

Cupcakes Anyone?

Hello all!
Long time no see! I know it's been quite a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiile since my last post. I started the semester at the beginning of the month and I'm currently taking 6 classes. Let's just say I've got plenty to read. Sadly I don't have any new earrings to show off, but I do have something else to put a smile on your face:
RAINBOW CHIP CUPCAKES!!!

Please note the cupcake liners. Yes those are skulls! Haven't I told you? I'm very into skulls! I'll have to show you some time. These, though they came from a box and give my baker dad hives, are my FAVORITE cupcakes! I love the rainbow chips, a.k.a. the candy! Baking from a box is definitely my cup of tea because I don't have the patience required for baking-from-scratch; I don't like having to worry about precise measurements, mixing just the right amount, etc. These were delicious and did not last long.
Thanks for visiting and hope to see you soon!

Can we say ridiculous?

Hello all!
The other day our two girls (the Lovely Lily and the usually Irate Iris) were napping together. Normally this is a very cute thing, but this time it was ridiculous. Let me show you why:

In case you can't tell, they're both sharing a very small piece of cardboard. If you look towards the top right corner, you can see a wee bit of cardboard by Iris' head.
I couldn't resist, so I took plenty of pictures before they got up!

That little bit of cardboard I was telling you about.

I think this affords the best angle for both of the girls! ;)

No, no go back to sleep. Nothing potentially embarrassing going on here.

Well I hope this has given you all a smile! I know I laughed. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon!

Angel's Heart

Ok, be honest. Is the title too cheesy?
These were actually a gift from my mom! I was so excited and I love these! I love the simplicity in the design (you should check out her blog; you'll find it's her style)

Well there you are. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you soon.

One-of-a-kind Purple Flowers

Hello all!
Ok, well technically two-of-a-kind. These were a gift from a friend (along with a boatload of other goodies!). It took me a while to find a design that suited them. I wanted to do something somewhat...elegant, but at the same time I didn't want to go overboard. I think this design does that very well.
What do you think?

I used swarovski crystals by the main bead and a different purple crystal (sorry I don't know the name) at the top. I also used two different sizes of spacers. I also made a pair similar to this but with a pretty green color. Surprise, it ended up going to my mom. I'll snap a couple of pics to share.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you soon!

Happiness Project: August Recap

Hello all.
I know I originally said I would be updating weekly with my H.P., but my first month did not go entirely as planned. For starters I got a JOB!!!!! I'm so happy, but I was also pretty pooped after a...shall we say an extremely relaxed and leisurely period. In addition to a job, I also did not do too well on my resolutions. I admit to being lazy in August and for this new month, I plan to start again and keep my zeal for the project.
In case you were wondering what I had originally planned for August, here is my list of Resolutions: (I did borrow some directly from Gretchen Rubin's project)
August: Energy (Boost my energy to greet the world with a smile)
Go to sleep early
Exercise and stretch
Tackle a nagging task
One thing in the yard or house
Do a task within 5 minutes
Organize and de-clutter
Evening clean-up
Keep a food journal

I didn't get fancy with the formatting (I just created a table in word). As you can see I was VERY ambitious last month; possible that this was one of the problems.

Thank you for bearing with me and being patient for my very very slow update. I'll try to update mid-way through September.

If you are thinking of starting your own Happiness Project, I highly recommend reading Gretchen Rubin's book The Happiness Project, and checking out her website
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!
p.s. until I get a picture of a humming bird, I'll be using the flower they liked. They're just too darned fast!
